2009 Waugh Cellars Pinot Noir
Harvest date: Sept 21, 2009
Production: 220 cases
The 2009 harvest was sensational. If not for a 4-day period in September with well over 100 degree temperatures, it could have been one of the best ever. We have always had great canopy management and irrigation techniques so the heat wave did not faze us too much. The resulting wines from 2009 have deep color, really intense flavors and a wonderful mouth feel (all provided by mother nature herself). The pinot is a perfect representation of this great vintage.
This wine has a seductive, sweet aroma of black cherries and raspberries with floral notes and spice; beautifully integrated oak with just the right amount of earthiness. This is a very special wine.
